A Year of Impact for the Transformer Division

When Eddie Ledford joined RMS Energy in March, he stepped into a role that demanded both leadership and vision. While the transition may have looked seamless, it was a complex integration of people, processes, and goals. But, Eddie and the team made it look effortless.

Shortly after coming aboard, Eddie played a key role in bringing an established Transformer Services team into RMS Energy through a unique partial acquisition. Under his leadership, the team secured a new facility in North Carolina and effectively built a new foundation from the ground up. Starting with 30 team members, they have since grown to 43, a remarkable accomplishment that speaks to both the team’s experience and Eddie’s steady leadership.

His crew has already surpassed early projections and rapidly expanded its project portfolio. Eddie has been instrumental in securing significant work, including excellent growth with Duke Energy and a notable GSU Replacement project at an electrical substation. When asked about his success, Eddie was quick to credit the other leaders of the team. He emphasized that none of it would be possible without the support and expertise of David Fraser and Fred Thorton. Their long-standing commitment and work ethic have been instrumental, along with each and every member of the team and their contributions.  Another high voltage transformer crew is already planned to launch under Eddie’s leadership in early 2026, further strengthening RMS Energy’s capabilities.

What could have been a challenging transition instead became a smooth, efficient, and highly successful integration. Eddie’s leadership continues to drive momentum within both the Transformer and Field Services (ERS) division, and we are proud to highlight the impact he has made in such a short time.
